What we offer:
One, two and three year old bare root seedlings. Evergreens averaging 6″-20″ in heights. Deciduous Hardwoods averaging 6″-30″ in height.
Fruit trees averaging 3′-4′ in height and ground cover plants.

Evergreens
Canadian Hemlock – Native Species, Tsuga canadensis, 3 yr. 8”-14” Flat needles not jagged, 3/4 inch in length. Best in cool, moist soils, pyramidal crown,grows to 6’ in 10-12 years. Can be pruned as hedge. PA State Tree! 10 per packet $8.00
Colorado Blue Spruce – Picea pungens glauca, 3 yr. 12”-16” Has blue-green color
. Popular Christmas tree. Grows to 6 feet in 10-12 years. 10 per packet $8.00
Douglas Fir -Pseudotsuga menziesii glauca,
3 yr. 12”-18” Grows best in moist, well-drained soils. Does not do well in heavy, wet, clay soils. Popular Christmas tree. Grows to 6 feet in 9-10 years. 10 per packet $8.00
White Pine – Native species, Pinus strobus, 3 yr. 8”-14” Has soft, long needles, grows rapidly in a variety of soils and prefers sun.Grows to 6 feet in 8-11 years. 10 per packet $8.00
American Holly, Native species, Ilex opaca, 2
yr. 4″-6″ Slow growing prized Christmas decoration. Small white flowers late spring. Bright red berries appear on the female trees. Tolerates shade well. Grows to 40 feet with an 18′ to 40′ pyramidal spread. 5 per packet $8.00
Deciduous Trees & Shrubs
Sugar Maple, Native species, Acer sacharum, 2 yr. 12″-24″ medium to dark green leaves turn into brilliant shades of burnt orange and red in the fall. 60′-75′ tall with a 40′-50′ spread. Full sun, tolerates shade, likes well drained, moderately moist soil. 5 per packet $8.00
Shadblow Service Berry, Native species, Amecanchier
canandensis, 2 yr, 12″-24″ Low maintenance tree with showy white blooms in spring. Flowers give way to small berries which can be used in jams and pies. 25′-30′ tall with 15′-20′ spread. Tolerates wide range of soil conditions. Full sun to part shade. 5 per packet $8.00
American Chestnut Hybrid, Castanea dentata
2 yr. 12″-24″ Created to revive a nearly extinct species, this tree is a cross of an American & Chinese Chestnut which can produce up to 6000 nuts per tree! Need to be planted within 200′ of each other for pollination. Fast growing, up to 50′ at maturity. 5 per packet $8.00
White Oak – Native species, Quercus alba, 3 yr. 8”-18” Excellent for wildlife food, shade and firewood. Dense foliage is bluish-green, to reddish-brown in fall. They have a high resistance to ice breakage and oak wilt. Also good tolerance to highway salt.Can grow 80-100 feet tall. 5 per packet $8.00
Persimmon, Native species, Diospyros virginiana, 1-2 yr. 12″-18″ seedlings. The glossy leathery leaves make this a nice one for the landscape. Mature trees stand 25-35 feet and the late autumn yellow to orange fruits are enjoyed by people as well as many species of wildlife. 5 per packet $8.00
Blue Berry, 2 yr plant, one each of the following types: Duke – Early bloomer, High Yield, growing to 4-6 feet. Has true blueberry taste. Blue Crop – Mid season bloomer, bears large fruit. Excellent ornamental value. Elizabeth – Mid to late season bloomer, prized for its excellent flavor. 6′ at maturity. 3 per set, $19.00
Pear Trees, 4 yr root stock, Semi dwarf grows to

Apple Trees, 4 yr root stock, Semi dwarf grows
to 15′-20′ One each of the following: Crimson Crisp – Wonderful disease resistant variety. Bears medium sized fruit with very firm, crisp texture with a tart flavor. Pristine – Yellow apple with smooth glossy skin. Fruit is high in sugar content with very good keeping quality for an early season apple. $30.00 per set
Ground Cover
Pachysandra -2 yr Evergreen ground cover. Perfect for dense shade. Grows 6” to 12 ”, spreading indefinitely. Plantings should be Terminals spaced 6” to 10 “ apart. Hardy. 100 per flat $20.00
Rain Barrel – Constructed of High Density Polyethylene, this rain barrel will work under any size rain spout. A perforated entry screen cover allows quick rain entry and prevents insects from entering. A solid brass spigot attaches easily to your garden hose. Can hold up to 60 gallons. Planting survival rates of bare-root seedlings vary from site to site, from excellent to poor. We strive to provide the most viable seedlings. All efforts are made to prevent root stress. The conservation district will NOT ensure successful planting of bare-root seedlings, just as our suppliers will not ensure seedling survival. The district is not responsible for mistakes made by the suppliers of our seedling stock.
The District is not responsible for seedlings not picked up by 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 10th. Call before April 10th if you have a problem with pickup. We reserve the right to substitute a different size seedling for any species pending availability. If any one species is sold out, the District will refund payment for those not available.
