What we offer:
One, two and three year old bare root seedlings. Evergreens averaging 6″-20″ in heights. Deciduous Hardwoods averaging 6″-30″ in height.
Fruit trees averaging 3′-4′ in height and ground cover plants.

Evergreens
Canadian Hemlock – Native Species, Tsuga canadensis, 3 yr. 8”-14” Flat needles not jagged, 3/4 inch in length. Best in cool, moist soils, pyramidal crown,grows to 6’ in 10-12 years. Can be pruned as hedge. PA State Tree! 10 per packet $8.00
Colorado Blue Spruce – Picea pungens glauca, 3 yr. 12”-16” Has blue-green color. Popular Christmas tree. Grows to 6 feet in 10-12 years. 10 per packet $8.00
Douglas Fir -Pseudotsuga menziesii glauca, 3 yr. 12”-18” Grows best in moist, well-drained soils. Does not do well in heavy, wet, clay soils. Popular Christmas tree. Grows to 6 feet in 9-10 years. 10 per packet $8.00
White Pine – Native species, Pinus strobus, 3 yr. 8”-14” Has soft, long needles, grows rapidly in a variety of soils and prefers sun.Grows to 6 feet in 8-11 years. 10 per packet $8.00
Canaan Fir – Abies balsamea var. phanerolepis, 3 yr. 8”-14” Soft, short needles, withstands warm temperatures. Good choice for Christmas trees. 5 per packet $8.00
Deciduous Trees & Shrubs
Buttonbush -Native species, Cephalanthus occidentalis,3 yr. 18”-30” Grows to 30 feet. A shrub or small tree that gets its name from its fragrant ball like clusters of white flowers which bloom May-August. A good source of nectar for butterflies.Does well in swampy conditions. 5 per packet $8.00
Magnolia – Sweetbay – NEW FOR 2010, Native species, Magnolia virginiana, 2 yr. 6”-12” Ornamental landscape tree with attractive foliage,flowers, and fruit. Does well in wet soils. Creamy white, mild lemony scented flower appear in late spring. 5 per packet $8.00
Redbud – Native species, Cercis canadensis, 2 yr. 10”-24” Small pink flowers in early spring. Very effective as a mass planting. Large, dark green, heart-shaped leaves. Can grow to 20 feet tall with a spread of 12 feet. 5 per packet $8.00
Shadblow Serviceberry– Native species, Amelanchier canadensis, 1 yr. 12”-18” Beautiful ornamental shrub with attractive white flowers in the spring. The flowers are followed by ¼ to ½-inch purple fruits with a waxy bloom that taste somewhat like blueberries when ripe. Can grow to 20’, does well in wet soils. 5 per packet $8.00
Shellbark Hickory – NEW FOR 2010, Native species, Carya laciniosa, 2yr. 6”-12” Slow growing, long-lived tree. The nuts, largest of all hickory nuts, are sweet and edible. Mature height of 80-100 feet. 5 per packet $8.00
White Oak – Native species, Quercus alba, 3 yr. 8”-18” Excellent for wildlife food, shade and firewood. Dense foliage is bluish-green, to reddish-brown in fall. They have a high resistance to ice breakage and oak wilt. Also good tolerance to highway salt.Can grow 80-100 feet tall. 5 per packet $8.00
Raspberry – Latham – NEW FOR 2010, Rubus idaeus – Latham, 1 year 3”-16” The Latham red raspberry is thornless and produces large, red colored fruit with a delicious flavor which ripens in June – July. Like lots of sun and moist but well drained soil. Grows to 4-5 feet and will spread. 4 per set $14.00
Bluecrop & Blueray Blueberry – Vaccinium corymbosum, 2-3 yr plants 10”-16” Both varieties offered are proven producers of large, high-quality fruit from early to late July and packed full of rich flavor. Plants are disease and root rot resistant and tolerate a variety of soil conditions. Blueberries belong in every home garden! Not only do they produce deliciously sweet and healthful fruits, the 4 to 6 foot shrubs also make handsome landscape plants. One of each variety per set. $18.00
Pear Tree – NEW FOR 2010, Pyrus communis, Seckel, Sugar Sweet, 3’-4’ Produces small round bell shaped pears with ultra-sweet flavor. The tree is a semi-dwarf and self-fertile making it a perfect choice for people with limited space. 1 per package $23.00
Cherry Tree – NEW FOR 2010, Prunus aviam, Stella (sweet) 3’-4’ The compact Stella breaks all the rules and is a must for the home gardener with limited space. This semi-dwarf (10-12 ft) produces large, dark red fruit in late July that is firm and sweet. 1 per package $24.00
Ground Cover & Deer Repellent
Pachysandra -2 yr Evergreen ground cover. Perfect for dense shade. Grows 6” to 12 ”, spreading indefinitely. Plantings should be Terminals spaced 6” to 10 “ apart. Hardy. 100 per flat $20.00
Deer Repellent – A ready to use 32 oz. sprayer bottle of a unique blend of organic ingredients proven to repel deer, rabbits and other foraging wildlife without harming them. A single application lasts from 60 to 90 days and allows new and or damaged growth to regain vigor and beauty naturally. $14.50
Planting survival rates of bare-root seedlings vary from site to site, from excellent to poor. We strive to provide the most viable seedlings. All efforts are made to prevent root stress. The conservation district will NOT ensure successful planting of bare-root seedlings, just as our suppliers will not ensure seedling survival. The district is not responsible for mistakes made by the suppliers of our seedling stock.
The District is not responsible for seedlings not picked up by 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 16th. Call before April 15th if you have a problem with pickup. We reserve the right to substitute a different size seedling for any species pending availability. If any one species is sold out, the District will refund payment for those not available.
